Job Description
Javelin Logistics Company, Inc is an industry leader in material management, logistics, and comprehensive transportation services with proven accuracy, flexibility, and on-time delivery is seeking to immediately hire a Full Time Class A Truck Driver for their Newark Facility.
Pay Range:
$30- $33 Per hour,DOE Shift:
Mon-Fri, 11 AM start time until the work is done. Full Time.Job Summary:
The local route driver performs dedicated pick-up and delivery in the local area for assigned routes. This position requires a Class A or B license, Haz Mat Endorsement preferred, 2 years' minimum experience operating a tractor/trailer (53' dry van, High Cube, Flatbed), clean DMV (no major at-fault accidents or speeding in commercial vehicles) and current medical card, city driving experience in all weather conditions . Material handling is required. This is a fast paced, dedicated on-time delivery environment - sense of urgency and commitment to customer service is a must. Forklift certification is a strong plus.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep paperwork and cargo supply organized to facilitate a smooth workflow.
- Responsible for occasional route coverage for the absence of other drivers.
- Load, secure, inspect and fuel before and as necessary during your shift
- Immediately report any problems during route to immediate supervisor.
- Assist in helping other drivers during load outs to maintain a safe work environment.
- Keep assigned Truck and work area at Terminal organized and clean for safety and efficiency.
- Tarp, Strap and Chain (when required) all loads to Federal Cargo Requirements.
- Sense of urgency and commitment to customer service.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid Class A Driver License with 2 years' minimum experience operating a tractor/trailer (53' dry van, High Cube, Flatbed)
- Clean DMV (no major at-fault accidents or speeding in commercial vehicles) Excellent interpersonal skills for communication with clients and co-workers.
- Maintain valid Medical Card.
- Ability to pass TSA mandated Security Threat Analysis (STA) and Drug test
- City driving experience in all weather conditions.
- Material handling is required.
- Forklift load/unload experience a strong plus
- Must be able to pass the required Drug and Alcohol test.
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift and maneuver 75 lbs. (tarps). Able to exert enough force to safely and securely tie down all material to trailer with straps and chains as necessary. Must be able to sit for long periods of time in the vehicle.- Knowledge of Commercial Vehicle Rules and Regulations.
Pay:
