Job Description
Truck Driver (Reedley) We are looking for a hardworking Truck Driver to join our growing company. You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of frozen products to customers. As a driver you must have a Commercial Driver License (CDL) and training in driving and operations. You should be an experienced truck driver with a clean driving record. Here at Brisk our drivers are responsible for delivering frozen freight throughout the State of California. Our drivers run Monday to Friday and are home every night, with weekends off. We pay per load and are looking for someone who is not afraid to work hard. We have 11 drivers currently who operate as a team together. There will be days that you have to cover another driver's pickups because they can't make them and vice versa. You MUST be able to be on time daily and have good communication skills. If you are stuck somewhere trying to deliver/pick up for over an hour we expect you to call. If there's something wrong with your truck/trailer, we expect a DVIR to be completed and turned in so the issue can be fixed. We run refrigerated reefer trailers only so please apply ONLY if you have experience with them.
Responsibilities:
- Make deliveries on time
- Have a basic knowledge of DOT regulations and standards
- Maintain communication and coordinate all vehicle & personnel activities with Supervisor/Manager
- Perform general housekeeping tasks and maintain cleanliness of vehicles and other areas as instructed
- Safely transport cargo to and from various facilities
- Maneuvering tractor-trailer combination into loading and unloading positions
- Secure cargo for safe transport
- Receive/follow dispatch instructions
- Perform thorough pre and post trip instructions of assigned vehicle
- Maintain current driver logs of working hours, vehicle service and repair status that adhere to state and federal regulations
- Collect any paperwork used during the delivery process and return to Supervisor/Manager once the shift is complete
Qualifications:
REEFER EXPERIENCE MANDATORY
- Must be able to operate a manual transmission
- Must have and be able to maintain a current Commercial Driver License (CDL)
- Have a clean driving record and be able to pass a drug & alcohol screening
- Be familiar with all FMCSA rules and regulations in the operation of a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV)
- Two-year truck driving experience required (or equivalent accredited training plus experience)
- Must be able to learn from on-the-job training to become familiar with company procedures and operating practices
- Have reliable transportation to and from work
- Be available to work Monday through Friday; hours fluctuate depending on deliveries
