Drivers will have at least one aid in the vehicle to assist students physically, emotionally, and ensure a safe healthy environment while being transported. Drivers are expected to follow all California traffic laws, adhere to Altus Academy driver policy and procedures, arrive on time daily, and ensure students are picked up and dropped off safely at specific locations assigned. What you'll do Driving the vehicle in a manner that ensures the safety of all passengers. Supervision of students up to and including the securing of seat belts and other safety equipment. Reporting any mechanical failures at the end of each route or if necessary stop vehicles and report if it appears unsafe to continue driving. Refrain from unnecessary discussion with aids and students. Must be able to meet and interact with employees and parents/guardians in routine situations, which require tact, discretion, and courtesy. Must be able to follow directions to new locations. Must report any tickets and/or accidents immediately to the transportation manager regardless if it is in a company vehicle or personal vehicle. Support the mission statement of Altus Academy. Attend staff and team meetings. Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality, and attendance. Any and all related duties as assigned per the Altus Academy Policy and Procedure Handbook.
Qualification Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year in transportation preferred.Certificates and Licenses:
Must possess a valid First Aid Card, CPR Certificate, and CPI card. Possess a valid unexpired Class C license with a passenger transport vehicle (PV) endorsement (per California Vehicle Code (CVC) § § 233 and 15278). Must provide (MEC) Medical Examiner's Certificate Form, (MEC)CSA-5876
). Must have no points on driving record and have personal auto liability insurance.Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to independently problem solve unique student and employer situations. Ability to understand and carry out detailed written and oral instructions.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
