Responsibilities Safely operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles. Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. Follow designated routes for local deliveries, adhering to schedules and traffic laws. Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit and ensure safe transportation. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery times and address any issues promptly. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation in compliance with company policies. Experience Proven experience in truck driving, preferably with delivery or route driving within local areas. Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles is highly desirable. Prior experience handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized trucks such as dump trucks or roll-off trucks is a plus. Knowledge of freight handling procedures including load & unload operations. Ability to operate auxiliary equipment like forklifts safely when required. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and transportation laws.
