Local routes, home daily Job Summary Bauman Landscape and Construction is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Lowboy Equipment Hauler / Class A Driver to transport heavy equipment and construction machinery to and from job sites throughout the Bay Area. This position is responsible for safely hauling equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, rollers, and attachments while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, DOT compliance, and equipment care. The ideal candidate has experience operating a lowboy trailer, understands proper load securement, and is comfortable working around active construction sites, urban areas, and tight jobsite conditions. Responsibilities Safely transport heavy equipment to and from construction job sites Haul equipment including excavators, loaders, skid steers, rollers, attachments, and other construction machinery Load, unload, chain, and properly secure equipment for transport Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on truck and trailer Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, delivery records, and required DOT documentation Follow DOT regulations, company safety policies, and load securement requirements Coordinate with dispatch, mechanics, and field crews regarding deliveries, schedules, and equipment needs Operate safely in tight jobsites, urban environments, and active construction zones Assist with basic equipment checks and minor maintenance when needed Keep assigned truck and trailer clean, safe, and in good working condition Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, field crews, and the public Represent the company with professionalism, reliability, and pride in quality work Required Qualifications Valid Class A CDL Clean driving record Experience hauling heavy equipment with lowboy trailers preferred Knowledge of DOT regulations and load securement requirements Ability to safely load and unload construction equipment Comfortable operating in active construction environments Strong communication and time management skills Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed Construction, grading, utilities, concrete, or heavy civil experience is a plus What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Reliable, hardworking, and dependable Safety-focused and detail-oriented Professional with customers, crews, and the public A strong communicator who can coordinate well with dispatch and field teams Positive, team-minded, and willing to help where needed Someone who takes pride in clean equipment, safe hauling, and quality work Compensation and Benefits Overtime opportunities Stable, full-time employment Union benefits, if applicable Local routes with consistent work Long-term growth opportunity within a growing company Supportive, team-oriented work environment About Bauman Landscape and Construction Bauman Landscape and Construction was established in 1977 and is a family-owned contractor with a strong presence in grading, utilities, concrete, and related construction work.
