(Department of Transportation) regulations Dangerous goods Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a hardworking, dependable, and safety-focused Hazardous Waste Driver to join our team. This position is labor intensive and requires someone who is willing to work hard, stay productive throughout the day, and safely handle hazardous waste transportation and field support operations. The Hazardous Waste Driver is responsible for safely transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials, loading and unloading supplies and waste containers, completing manifests and shipping paperwork, and assisting with labor tasks in the field when needed. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and compliance. This is not a sit-in-the-truck-all-day position. Drivers are expected to actively assist with loading, unloading, cleanup work, and operational support throughout the day. Responsibilities Safely operate company vehicles including pickup trucks, box trucks, vans, and other commercial vehicles Transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials in compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and company regulations Load and unload drums, totes, containers, supplies, tools, and equipment Properly secure loads and inspect materials before transport Complete hazardous waste manifests, shipping documents, inspection reports, and related paperwork accurately Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, equipment, and work areas Assist crews with field labor, cleanup operations, and emergency response work as needed Deliver supplies and equipment to customer sites and active projects Follow all PPE requirements and company safety procedures Communicate professionally with dispatchers, supervisors, customers, and team members Work outdoors and in industrial or physically demanding environments Assist with warehouse, yard, and operational support tasks when needed Physical Requirements This position requires physical labor on a daily basis.

Candidates must be able to:

Lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials regularly Load and unload waste containers and supplies by hand Climb in and out of trucks multiple times throughout the day Bend, kneel, squat, and stand for extended periods Work in hot, cold, dirty, wet, or unpleasant environments Perform physically demanding work safely and efficiently Qualifications & Requirements Valid California Driver License required Hazardous Materials Endorsement required Class C license acceptable Class A or Class B CDL is a plus, but not required Clean driving record required Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check Previous experience in hazardous waste, environmental services, transportation, construction, labor, or related industries preferred Knowledge of hazardous waste manifests and DOT regulations is a plus Ability to work overtime, weekends, and emergency response calls when necessary Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team Safety-focused mindset with strong attention to detail Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following areas is beneficial: Hazardous waste transportation Environmental or industrial services Emergency response Warehouse or logistics operations Construction or demolition labor Roll-off or waste hauling General labor or field operations

Pay:

$35.00 - $38.00 per hour
