JOB PURPOSE

The Patient Transport Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and compassionate non-emergency medical transportation to clients throughout the Central Coast and surrounding areas. The driver will transport wheelchair and gurney clients from hospitals, medical facilities, residences, care facilities, and other approved destinations. This position is responsible for ensuring each client is transported with dignity, respect, safety, and professionalism while following all company transportation, safety, and client-care procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operate company-provided wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Transport clients safely and reliably to and from hospitals, medical facilities, residences, care facilities, and other approved destinations. Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle in a safe and respectful manner. Safely push, maneuver, load, and secure wheelchairs and gurneys. Properly secure clients and mobility equipment using approved equipment and procedures. Ensure clients remain safe, comfortable, and treated with dignity throughout transportation. Provide professional, compassionate, and respectful customer service to clients, families, caregivers, and healthcare facility staff. Communicate with dispatch regarding trip status, delays, changes, pickup or drop-off concerns, and other operational issues. Follow assigned schedules, trip instructions, and company transportation procedures. Complete required trip documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Conduct required vehicle inspections before and after assigned shifts. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall condition of the assigned vehicle. Ensure required safety equipment and transportation equipment are present, properly maintained, and secured. Report vehicle problems, equipment concerns, accidents, incidents, or safety issues to dispatch or management promptly. Follow all company safety policies, transportation procedures, and applicable traffic laws. Protect client privacy and maintain confidentiality when handling client information. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing Care Connection Transport Services. Work cooperatively with dispatchers, drivers, supervisors, healthcare facilities, and other team members. Complete required training and consistently follow trained procedures for wheelchair, gurney, and client securement. Return all equipment assigned to the vehicle to its designated storage location at the end of each shift. Equipment should not be left in the bay or outside of the assigned vehicle. Ensure the assigned vehicle is properly fueled before the end of each shift so the next driver is ready to begin their shift without interruption. Never leave a vehicle with an empty or near-empty fuel tank when ending a shift; drivers are responsible for leaving the vehicle adequately fueled for the next driver. Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned by management.

Must be 22 years of age or older No experience needed; paid training No special license required Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen Have a good driving record
