Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation, loading, unloading, and delivery of products, donations, equipment, and materials. This position supports warehouse and campus operations by ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and assisting with inventory and warehouse duties during downtime. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate half-cab box trucks, cargo vans, forklifts, and pallet jacks in accordance with company policies and DOT regulations. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections for trucks, automobiles, forklifts, and other machinery to ensure operational safety and compliance. Load, unload, transport, and secure products, donations, and inventory safely and efficiently. Assist with warehouse operations during downtime, including organizing inventory, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting team projects. Utilize handheld devices, maps, and Microsoft Excel for routing, delivery tracking, inventory management, and reporting purposes. Maintain accurate delivery and inventory records. Communicate professionally and effectively with vendors, donors, staff, and customers. Operate electrical and handheld pallet jacks safely and effectively. Ensure deliveries and pickups are completed on schedule while maintaining a high level of customer service. Follow all safety procedures, DOT rules, and company policies at all times. Work in various weather conditions and environments as required. Identify and resolve logistical or delivery-related issues in a timely and professional manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, warehouse areas, and delivery locations. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical & Mental Requirements Mobility:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and lift, carry, push, pull, or move cleaning equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds while maintaining sufficient manual dexterity and mobility to safely navigate all areas of the facility, including indoor and outdoor campus spaces.
Environmental:
Exposure to cleaning chemicals, odors, dust, and debris. Work performed indoors and outdoors, including exposure to varying weather conditions. Potential exposure to biohazards including bodily fluids and bloodborne pathogens; employee must follow PPE and safety protocols.
Hearing/Talking:
Frequent verbal communication with supervisors, staff, clients, and visitors; ability to hear alarms and safety warnings; and frequent radio/phone use as needed.
Visual:
Sufficient visual acuity to read labels, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and safety signage; identify cleanliness standards and sanitation needs; recognize spills, hazards, and unsafe conditions; and safely operate and inspect cleaning tools and equipment.
Emotional/Psychological:
Ability to work independently, manage time and repetitive tasks effectively, follow safety protocols consistently, remain calm and professional in busy or high-traffic environments, and maintain respectful, cooperative interactions with diverse individuals, including program participants, while adapting to schedule or task changes as needed. Qualifications Valid Class C Driver's License required. Forklift certification required. No moving violations within the past three (3) years. Minimum of five (5) years of experience operating half-cab box trucks. Minimum of five (5) years of experience operating cargo vans. Minimum of five (5) years of experience loading and unloading trucks. Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations. Experience with inventory management and warehouse operations preferred. Proficiency using handheld devices, GPS/maps, and Microsoft Excel. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. Ability to adapt to changing schedules, environments, and operational needs.
