In this vital role, you will operate tractor-trailers to transport freight efficiently and safely, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all federal and state regulations. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your commitment to safety and customer service, will keep our logistics operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers on over-the-road routes, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Transport refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized freight such as hazardous materials or automobile transportation cargo. Use GPS navigation systems to plan and follow optimal routes, ensuring timely deliveries across multiple states. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or truck loading equipment, ensuring cargo is secure and compliant with safety standards. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before hitting the road. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in compliance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or hazardous materials (Hazmat). Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and hazardous materials regulations for safe transportation of dangerous goods. Skilled in route driving using GPS navigation tools for efficient delivery planning across OTR routes. Ability to load and unload freight manually or with appropriate equipment while maintaining safety standards. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission trucks is preferred. Familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures for freight security and proper documentation. Strong commitment to safety protocols, vehicle maintenance checks, and compliance with all federal and state trucking laws.
