JOB SUMMARY
Through daily coordination with the Logistics Coordinator, the Logistics Operator is responsible for the safe mobilization and transport of general construction supplies, tools, equipment, and materials. This role executes daily transport tasks, ensuring equipment is properly loaded, secured, and delivered to project sites, yards, suppliers, 3rd party facilities on schedule. A successful candidate must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and maintain a clean motor vehicle record. The Logistics Operator prioritizes public and project site safety by maintaining 100% compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations and all JHL safety policies and procedures. The role includes documentation of daily activities and communication with multiple stakeholders. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Core Duties /
Responsibilities:
Professionally represents JHL Constructors and supports company strategic initiatives. Safely load and unload various self-propelled equipment and heavy equipment Utilize various forklifts, telehandlers, loaders, etc to load and unload tools, supplies and materials Secure all loads from movement in compliance with all applicable regulations and best practices Evaluate all delivery and loading locations for hazards and suitability Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintain accurate driver logs as required by law Work cooperatively with project site personnel, subcontractors, and business partners to locate and positively identify JHL-owned assets in dynamic and demanding sites and facilities Adhere to all applicable FMCSA and DOT regulations and JHL health and safety plans Complete daily reports and document activities, progress, and any issues encountered Participate in continuous improvement training programs to enhance skills and promote best practices. Assists with miscellaneous department duties, administrative tasks, and team initiatives.
Education / Experience
/
Training:
High School Diploma / GED. Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required. 2 years of relevant CDL driving experience. Construction, rental, towing, or other vocational experience strongly preferred. OSHA 10-Hour certification required; 30-hour preferred.
Knowledge / Skills
/
Abilities:
Advanced-level understanding of load securement requirements, DOT and FMCSA regulations Proven ability to operate tractor trailer and pickup trailer combinations in high traffic, urban environments Familiarity with basic mobile equipment operation for the purpose of safe loading and unloading Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with multiple stakeholders Demonstrates adaptability and resilience to challenging conditions and changing circumstances
Physical Requirements:
FIELD % of Work Time Must have the ability to remain in a standing or seated position. 80% Must have the ability to speak, write and comprehend English language. 100% Must have the ability to lift tools and supplies, up to 80 lbs. 40% Must have the ability to hear clearly. 100% Must have the ability to stoop, kneel, climb, bend and reach. 80% Must have dexterity to utilize and manipulate tools and materials. 80% Must have clear vision, or wear glasses/contacts if vision is obscured 100%

WORK ENVIRONMENT / TRAVEL
Exposure to various weather conditions and loud noises. Up to 10%, and/or daily travel as business requires during scheduled work hours.
