In this vital role, you will operate specialized tractor-trailers equipped with refrigerated trailers to ensure perishable goods arrive safely and on time. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and commitment to excellent delivery service will keep our supply chain moving smoothly. Responsibilities Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers with refrigerated (reefer) trailers across OTR routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel and time management. Load, secure, transport, and unload freight, including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, or other specialized cargo such as flatbed or tanker loads when required. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer, refrigeration units, and cargo to ensure safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered on the road. Handle manual tasks involved in truck loading/unloading and cargo handling while adhering to safety protocols for manual handling and hazardous materials. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly in over-the-road (OTR) routes involving refrigerated trailers. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning for long-distance deliveries. Knowledge of refrigeration systems, trailer maintenance, and cargo handling procedures for freight including hazardous or dangerous goods. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards related to trucking operations. Ability to manually handle freight during loading/unloading processes while following proper safety procedures. Experience with manual transmission trucks is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to operate such vehicles is required.
