Full Job Description Job Purpose :
Responsible for driving a Tractor Trailer of varying sizes ranging from 53 foot ,48 foot or 45 foot to transport trailers safely utilizing the drop and hook method between JP Terminals located in the Tri-State Area.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Driving Tractor Trailers following all safety regulations and guidelines
  • Completing overnight trips not "bedding down" between various JP locations.
  • Drivers return to original terminal daily
  • Verify documentation and condition of trailer to assure quality standards are achieved
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Ensuring the security and safety of the tractor and freight
  • Adhering to all FMCSA regulations
  • Maintain a clean and safe work truck
  • Retains and maintain records such as ELDs and manifests
  • Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Requirements
  • Valid Class A Commercial License- Hazmat preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of recent tractor trailer experience
  • Must be 21 years of age or older per DOT regulations
  • Ability to obtain DOT medical card and negative drug test
  • Must be willing to follow all federal and or state laws and regulations
  • 3 years DMV/MVR record with no more than 3 moving accidents or violations within 3 years
  • Capable of driving vehicles from 48 foot plus
  • Simple grasping of right and left hand
  • Fine Manipulation of right and left hand

JP Express Service Inc. is a non-union LTL motor freight carrier with 5 locations in the Tri-State area. JP Express Service is privately owned with approximately 280 employees and has been doing business since 1992.
