Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport and deliver materials efficiently across various job sites. Your expertise in truck driving, cargo handling, and adherence to safety regulations will ensure timely deliveries and smooth operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for drivers passionate about heavy equipment operation and logistics, with a focus on maintaining high safety standards and delivering exceptional service. Responsibilities Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently on over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, secure, transport, and unload construction materials, debris, or other freight using various truck configurations such as flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated trailers. Navigate using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries while optimizing routes for fuel efficiency and safety. Comply with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous materials, ensuring proper documentation and handling procedures are followed. Perform routine inspections of trucks before and after trips, including checking load & unload processes, manual handling tasks, and truck loading/unloading equipment. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery records in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Collaborate with dispatch teams to coordinate route driving schedules and manage logistics cargo handling effectively. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with tractor-trailer units or dump trucks. Familiarity with route driving across diverse terrains and over-the-road (OTR) routes. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures for freight, hazardous materials, or dangerous goods. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the role (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker). Strong understanding of DOT regulations, hazard communication standards, and safety protocols related to trucking operations. Experience operating refrigerated trailers or specialized equipment such as flatbeds or tanker trucks is a plus. Demonstrated ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely.
