Responsibilities Operate heavy-duty tow trucks, including flatbed and vehicle recovery towing equipment, with precision and safety. Safely load and unload vehicles onto tow trucks following cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit. Conduct basic vehicle troubleshooting, minor mechanical repairs, and automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle condition before towing. Perform vehicle recovery operations, including roadside assistance for disabled or damaged vehicles, ensuring quick and effective service. Maintain detailed logs of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and incident reports for accountability and compliance purposes. Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate vehicle pickups and deliveries efficiently. Follow all safety procedures related to commercial truck driving, cargo securement, manual transmission operation, and vehicle mechanics for truck drivers. Qualifications Proven experience operating tow trucks or similar heavy-duty commercial vehicles; mechanic experience is highly valued. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for heavy truck driving and flatbed operations. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and basic vehicle troubleshooting. Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, automotive repair procedures, and vehicle mechanics for truck drivers. Knowledge of cargo securement protocols to ensure safe loading onto tow trucks during transport. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflicts professionally in stressful situations. Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles confidently while adhering to safety standards. Physical ability to load/unload vehicles manually or with equipment; comfortable working in various weather conditions.
