Commercial Driver's License A Truck Driver Own The Pavement LLC Delaware City, DE From $1,500 a week - Full-time Apply with Indeed From $1,500 a week - Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving, to deliver freight efficiently and reliably. Your expertise in handling trailers, and diverse cargo types will ensure our customers receive their shipments on time while maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced logistics environment where your driving skills and attention to detail make a real impact. Duties Safely operate Hot-shot Dually tractor-trailers, flatbed, across assigned routes with a focus on OTR driving. Navigate using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo. Transport automobile parts or other specialty cargo using appropriate trailer types like flatbeds to ensure secure load & unload procedures. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety standards are met. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route changes, delivery schedules, or safety concerns. Requirements Valid CDL A license with clean driving record and proven experience in commercial truck driving. Experience operating flatbeds & heavy loads. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, and hazardous materials regulations. Ability to handle manual tasks involved in truck loading/unloading and cargo handling safely and efficiently. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road driving routes. Experience with delivery driving including route driving and managing logistics cargo handling. Strong understanding of safety procedures related to dangerous goods and hazardous materials transportation. Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks such as lifting freight or operating forklift equipment when necessary.
