Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. Your expertise in handling different types of freight and trailers will be essential to our success. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and security. Transport a variety of freight including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, report any issues promptly, and maintain compliance with DOT standards. Manage route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and safety protocols. Assist with the loading and securing of freight on different trailer types, including flatbeds and refrigerated units. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any logistical challenges. Experience Proven truck driving experience with a valid CDL Class A license, preferably with experience in commercial driving environments. Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks is required. Experience handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized freight is highly desirable. Prior delivery driver experience involving load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment is preferred. Knowledge of safety regulations related to trucking operations, including DOT compliance and vehicle maintenance standards. Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic troubleshooting for tractor-trailers. Demonstrated ability to manage route driving efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
