Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver-EMT, where you will play a vital role in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for patients requiring medical care. Job Overview Hurricane Transport, LLC is seeking dependable, compassionate, and professional Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Drivers with EMT-Basic experience preferred to join our growing team. Our drivers provide safe and reliable transportation for patients traveling to and from hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, dialysis centers, hospice facilities, and private residences. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. Duties & Responsibilities Safely transport ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher patients to and from medical appointments and healthcare facilities. Assist patients with boarding, securing wheelchairs/stretchers, and exiting the vehicle safely. Perform patient transfers using proper body mechanics and approved lifting equipment. Ensure all patients are secured according to company safety protocols. Complete trip documentation accurately using electronic dispatch applications. Communicate professionally with dispatch, hospitals, nursing facilities, and patients. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized vehicle. Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, company, and state regulations. Report incidents, delays, or changes in patient condition immediately to dispatch and management. Deliver exceptional customer service while treating every patient with dignity, compassion, and respect. Qualifications & Experience Required Valid Florida Driver License with a clean driving record. High school diploma or GED. Ability to lift and move over 300 lbs. with assistance and approved equipment. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to pass a Level II Criminal Background Check. Ability to pass a 10-panel urine drug screen. Current CPR/BLS Certification (or ability to obtain before employment). Preferred Current Florida EMT-Basic certification. Previous experience in Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT), EMS, patient transport, or healthcare. Experience operating wheelchair and stretcher transport vehicles. Knowledge of patient handling and safe transfer techniques.
