BOX TRUCK DRIVER - REQUIREMENTS & POSITION DETAILS
We are seeking dependable, professional Over-the-Road (OTR) Box Truck Drivers who understand that this position requires extended time on the road.
DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must: Be legally authorized to work in the United States. Have a clean background and be able to pass a background check. Have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) . Possess a valid driver's license . Maintain a current DOT Medical Card . Be able to safely operate a commercial box truck. Be willing and able to remain OTR for 2-3 weeks at a time . Be dependable, professional, and able to communicate with dispatch. Follow all DOT regulations, Hours of Service requirements, and company safety procedures. Properly inspect the truck and safely secure all freight before operating.
OTR SCHEDULE
Drivers should expect to: Stay on the road for approximately 2-3 weeks at a time . Return home for scheduled home time/weekend when routing allows. Return OTR after scheduled home time. Understand that this is an OTR position , not a local or home-daily position.
TRUCK SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING
The box truck does NOT have a sleeper berth . The truck is equipped with a bench-seat setup only . Drivers must be comfortable with the sleeping/rest arrangement provided in the truck. Hotels are NOT provided or paid for by the company. Any hotel or alternative lodging a driver chooses to use will be the driver's responsibility unless otherwise approved by the company in writing.
DRIVER PAY
Drivers are paid 20% of the truck's weekly gross revenue .
Example:
If the truck grosses $5,000 for the week , the driver's gross pay would be: $5,000 × 20% = $1,000 Weekly earnings will vary based on the truck's actual gross revenue, freight availability, miles, driver availability, and time spent on the road.
IMPORTANT
This position is best suited for a driver who understands the OTR lifestyle and is prepared to stay out consistently. Please do not apply if you are unable to remain OTR for 2-3 weeks at a time or are not comfortable with a box truck that does not have a sleeper berth. Responsibilities Safely operate a non-CDL box truck, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in optimal condition for each route. Deliver goods efficiently along designated routes, managing time effectively to meet delivery schedules. Assist with warehouse operations by manually handling materials, organizing inventory, and supporting moving activities when needed. Communicate clearly with dispatch using mobile devices to confirm deliveries, report issues, or update route information. Provide excellent customer service by ensuring deliveries are completed professionally and courteously, addressing any client questions or concerns. Experience Prior experience in operating a 26 ft box truck over the road Warehouse experience including material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks or forklifts is highly desirable. Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and safe lifting practices for heavy loads. Knowledge of traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance standards for commercial driving. Demonstrated ability to handle weight safely in the workplace and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly. Experience working with mobile devices for route navigation and communication during deliveries. Strong customer service skills with a focus on professionalism and punctuality.
