Experienced NEMT Driver - Wheelchair Transportation | FT/PT SailorGirl Transport | Sarasota-Bradenton, FL SailorGirl Transport is currently seeking experienced Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Drivers for Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities. This position is best suited for drivers who understand the responsibilities that come with transporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, rehabilitation patients, assisted living residents, skilled nursing residents, and other passengers who may need additional support during transport. NEMT requires more than safe driving. We are looking for team members who are dependable, punctual, patient, professional, and comfortable assisting passengers with mobility needs. What You'll Do Drivers are responsible for safely transporting clients to medical appointments, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, dialysis appointments, assisted living communities, skilled nursing facilities, and other approved destinations.

Daily responsibilities include:

Assisting ambulatory and wheelchair passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle safely Properly securing wheelchairs and other mobility devices Following scheduled pickup and drop-off times Communicating professionally with dispatch, clients, family members, and facility staff Completing required trip documentation accurately Performing required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Keeping assigned vehicles clean and presentable Following SailorGirl Transport safety procedures and NEMT standards Providing respectful, courteous, and compassionate service throughout each trip Qualifications Applicants should have a valid Florida driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Candidates must also be reliable, punctual, professional, and able to work independently while following dispatch instructions.

Additional qualifications include:

Previous NEMT, wheelchair transportation, medical transportation, paratransit, or similar passenger transportation experience strongly preferred Ability to pass required background screening Ability to pass drug screening, if required Comfort assisting elderly passengers and individuals with mobility limitations Ability to safely operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles and wheelchair securement equipment Ability to use a smartphone for navigation, dispatching, communication, and trip documentation Experience We Value We strongly encourage applications from candidates with backgrounds in: Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Wheelchair transportation Stretcher transportation Paratransit Senior transportation Assisted living or skilled nursing transportation Medical passenger transportation EMS CNA, HHA, caregiver, or other healthcare support roles Scheduling Both Full-Time and Part-Time positions are available.
