Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers equipped with refrigerated trailers across over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering to all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries while optimizing fuel usage and route planning. Handle refrigeration units to maintain proper cargo temperature, ensuring freight quality during transit. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport and delivery. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers, including checking for mechanical issues, refrigeration functionality, and safety compliance. Load and unload freight such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (if certified), or other logistics cargo handling tasks following safety protocols. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and compliance records in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered on the road. Ensure all hazardous materials regulations are followed when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous materials. Support truck loading/unloading operations at distribution centers or customer sites while adhering to safety standards. Experience Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers in an over-the-road (OTR) environment preferred. 2 years of experience preferred Proven experience in refrigerated trailer operations or temperature-sensitive freight transportation. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for long-distance trucking routes. Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations. Experience with manual transmission trucks is a plus; ability to perform manual handling tasks safely is essential. Previous delivery driver experience involving freight handling, load & unload procedures, or logistics cargo handling is highly valued.
