In this role, you will operate flatbed trucks, transporting a variety of cargo including freight, machinery, and hazardous materials, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Your expertise in commercial truck driving combined with your passion for logistics will drive our success. Responsibilities Safely operate flatbed trucks on over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering to all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper cargo securement on flatbed trailers or specialized tanker units when required Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules Transport various types of freight including freight, machinery, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, and automobile transportation loads Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, load & unload activities, and compliance with hazardous materials regulations Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with trucking regulations Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery times and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly Skills Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on flatbed or tanker operations in an OTR setting Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods Skilled in manual transmission operation and truck loading/unloading procedures Familiarity with logistics cargo handling, route planning, GPS navigation systems, and freight documentation Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely during load & unload processes Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience in delivery driving preferred Knowledge of tractor-trailer operations including flatbed trailers and tanker units for specialized cargo transportation Embark on a rewarding journey as an OTR Flatbed Driver where safety meets adventure!
