Job Description
Palm Beach County towing experience Strong working knowledge of the Palm Beach County Towing Ordinance. Experience dealing directly with Palm Beach County Consumer Affairs. Experience getting a company approved for non-consent/private-property towing, not just roadside/consent towing. Knowledge of municipal requirements because individual cities may have additional rules or different non-consent rates. Licensing and compliance expertise Help High Priority Towing obtain and maintain its required operating/business permits. Review tow-truck registrations, required decals and inspections. Review insurance and workers' compensation requirements. Make sure drivers obtain the appropriate Palm Beach County credentials/badges. Prepare the company for Consumer Affairs inspections. Palm Beach County specifically provides applications for towing-company permits, workers' compensation compliance, and tow-truck drivers. Storage-yard setup Evaluate whether our existing/proposed tow yard qualifies. Help establish legally compliant vehicle intake, storage and release procedures. Establish after-hours vehicle-release procedures. Make sure required signage, posted rates, telephone contact and customer-access procedures are compliant. Florida law imposes specific requirements on where private-property-towed vehicles are stored and requires availability for vehicle redemption. Private-property impound expertise Set up contracts with HOAs, apartment communities, commercial properties, shopping centers and property-management companies. Review tow-away signage. Establish authorization procedures. Train dispatchers and drivers on when a vehicle legally can and cannot be removed. Understand Palm Beach County's Prior Express Instruction requirements. Tow documentation and records Develop compliant tow sheets/manifests. Vehicle condition/photo documentation. Authorization records. Law-enforcement notification procedures. Customer receipts. Rate sheets. Vehicle release records. Long-term record-retention system. Florida law requires notification to the appropriate police department or sheriff within 30 minutes after completion of certain private-property tows, including specified vehicle and storage information. Properly structure towing, mileage, storage and other allowable charges. Understand that consent towing rates are generally not regulated by the County's non-consent maximum-rate schedule, while non-consent rates are capped.
