Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Dump Truck Driver and take charge of transporting materials efficiently and safely across various job sites. This energetic role offers the opportunity to operate a variety of heavy-duty trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, ensuring timely delivery of freight and construction materials. Duties Safely operate dump trucks, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, and other commercial vehicles to transport freight, hazardous materials, or construction materials over long distances or local routes Load and unload cargo with manual handling techniques or truck loading equipment, ensuring proper securing of loads in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and local job sites Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues or safety hazards and report them promptly Follow all safety protocols related to hazardous goods, dangerous goods handling, and transportation of sensitive freight such as refrigerated or tanker loads Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate route driving plans and optimize delivery schedules while adhering to DOT regulations Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving, route driving, and freight transportation Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and hazard communication standards Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers with manual handling expertise Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning on OTR routes Ability to load & unload cargo safely using appropriate equipment; experience with freight handling on flatbed or tanker trucks is a plus Excellent driving record demonstrating safe truck driving practices in accordance with DOT standards Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures for various types of freight including hazardous goods and refrigerated cargo Join us in delivering excellence every mile!
