Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This position requires a strong understanding of various driving techniques and the ability to navigate local roads while adhering to all safety regulations. Position allows candidate to be home daily and weekends. Responsibilities Operate various types of vehicles, including roll-off trucks, flatbeds, and tankers, ensuring safe delivery of freight.

Familiarity with the following cities:

Calhoun, Adairsville, Rome, Dalton, Cartersville, Chattanooga Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any issues encountered on the road. Adhere to all local, state, and federal driving regulations while operating vehicles. Skills Proven experience in route driving and commercial driving is preferred. Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is a plus. Strong navigation skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS systems effectively. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries. Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate delivery records. Ability to handle freight safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
