Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks and trailers to deliver freight efficiently and on time. Your expertise in driving different vehicle configurations, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and tractor-trailers, will ensure our cargo reaches its destination securely and in excellent condition. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics operation while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Responsibilities Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including trucks with manual transmissions, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo. Execute route driving efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, fuel consumption, and inspection reports. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues promptly. Follow safety protocols rigorously to prevent accidents or damage during transportation activities. Qualifications Proven experience in truck driving or delivery driving roles with a focus on freight transportation. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle types operated (e.g., tanker, flatbed). Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently. Experience handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable. Knowledge of load securement techniques and proper use of equipment such as forklifts for loading/unloading. Strong understanding of route planning and driving safety regulations across different jurisdictions. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy loads when necessary.
