Weekly Pay:
$1,350-$1,500 average
Home Time:
48-hour reset every other weekend
Location:
Des Moines, IA (50309)
Freight:
No-touch regional dry van Regional lane reliability and route consistency give Des Moines CDL-A truck drivers a dependable position with steady freight, longer average hauls, and a schedule that remains consistent from one work cycle to the next. Drivers operate multi-state regional routes with mostly drop-and-hook freight while averaging 700-750 miles per haul. Regional Route Details This position is centered around no-touch dry van freight moving across established regional lanes. Drivers spend their time running multi-state routes with freight scheduled to support consistent mileage throughout the 12-day operating cycle. Most loads are drop-and-hook, reducing the amount of time spent waiting at customer facilities. Some shipments require live unloading depending on the customer, but freight remains no-touch for the driver. Average haul lengths of 700-750 miles provide longer runs and help limit the need to piece together numerous short trips to build weekly mileage. Pay and Benefits Drivers average $1,350-$1,500 per week based on miles and experience. Detention compensation is available when qualifying delays occur. After 6 months, eligible drivers have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance. Paid time off and participation in a 401(k) retirement plan are also included in the benefits package. Every-Other-Weekend Reset Drivers follow a repeating schedule of 12 days on the road followed by a guaranteed 48-hour reset every other weekend. This gives drivers a defined home-time pattern while maintaining the road time needed for productive regional miles. Safe parking available at home? Drivers may take their assigned tractor home for the reset. Approved parking locations are also available when another parking option is needed. Freightliner and Kenworth Equipment The fleet includes 2021 or newer Freightliner and Kenworth tractors with automatic transmissions. Trucks are equipped with APUs, inverters, refrigerator space, and mounts for a TV and microwave. Preventive maintenance is performed regularly to help keep equipment reliable and reduce unnecessary downtime between runs. Driver Programs Rider and pet programs are available for approved drivers. Dispatch provides assistance with routing and freight coordination throughout each trip, while maintenance support is available when equipment needs arise. Minimum Qualifications Valid Class A CDL Minimum 3 months of recent tractor-trailer driving experience Acceptable driving and safety record Must meet DOT qualification and company safety requirements CK Transportation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
