Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Cannon Builders Inc. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting construction materials and equipment safely and efficiently to various jobsites around Southeast Idaho and to our shop based in Blackfoot, Idaho. This role requires a strong understanding of route driving and the ability to operate different types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds, water trucks and more. The Truck Driver is responsible for adhering to all FMCSA regulations, including those related to safety and drug and alcohol testing. Operate various types of trucks including dump trucks, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, water trucks, and more. Plan routes effectively to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to jobsites, effectively communication between job superintendents and the trucking manager. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Load and unload materials and equipment as necessary, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that occur during transport. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience as a truck driver with a strong understanding of route driving. Experience operating various truck types. Hazmat endorsement is not required but preferred. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Must pass all required background checks and drug screenings. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction between job superintendents, project managers, project owners, and the state.
