Class C Driver

Truck Driver Delivery driver needed for our Alsip Food Distribution Center. Work consists of safely operating a straight truck and making local deliveries to restaurants, grocery stores, schools, gas stations, etc. located in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Drivers will use all available equipment provided in order to deliver food products and assorted food stuff to customers. Drivers are home daily and work Monday thru Friday. To qualify, candidates must possess a valid Illinois class C license, be insurable, speak and write English, and pass a medical exam.

Duties:

• Safely operate a variety of trucks, including tractor-trailers, to transport goods and materials to designated locations
• Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts
• Plan and follow designated routes to ensure timely delivery of goods
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
• Perform routine inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance or repair needs
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members

Qualifications:

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a truck driver or similar role
• Knowledge of manual transmission and/or stick shift vehicles
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
