Weekend Spotter - 1st

Elwood, IL Schedule:
Tues-Sat, 6a-2p Job Summary We are hiring an experienced Spotter to safely move and position trailers around a busy warehouse and distribution facility. This position is responsible for spotting trailers at loading docks and staging areas, assisting with loading and unloading, and ensuring equipment is operated safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in a similar spotter, yard driver, trailer spotter, or transportation role and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Safely move and spot trailers to designated loading docks and staging areas. Attach the drive unit to trailers and transport them to and from dock doors. Inspect trucks and equipment before and after use and report any defects or maintenance concerns. Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operating guidelines. Operate power industrial equipment when required and properly trained. Maintain clear communication with management, coworkers, and other personnel. Complete required documentation and reports regarding truck and equipment conditions. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications At least 2 years of experience in a similar position. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to safely operate power industrial equipment, if required. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good analytical and mathematical skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to follow safety procedures and management instructions. Must be able to lift and/or pull up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Must be dependable and safety-conscious. Ability to work weekends and potentially extended or irregular hours based on business needs. Work Environment This is a hands-on position in a warehouse and yard environment. The role requires frequent walking, standing, trailer movement, and physical activity.
