Job Description
McLane Company, Inc., a leading national supply chain services provider, is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver to support its grocery and foodservice distribution operations. In this role, you will safely operate a CDL A tractor-trailer to deliver products to convenience stores, mass merchants, and chain restaurants on established routes. Responsibilities include conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, maintaining DOT-compliant logs, loading and unloading freight, and ensuring accurate, damage-free deliveries. You will interact directly with customers, represent McLane's safety-first and service-driven culture, and work within a large-scale, technology-enabled distribution network offering long-term growth opportunities. Responsibilities Operate CDL A tractor-trailer to deliver grocery and foodservice products to retail and restaurant customers on established routes Perform safe vehicle inspections, maintain logs, and comply with DOT and company safety standards Load and unload freight using pallet jacks, lift gates, and other material-handling equipment Verify orders, obtain customer signatures, and ensure accurate, damage-free deliveries Communicate with dispatch regarding schedules, delays, and route changes Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols in yards, docks, and on the road Provide professional, courteous customer service at delivery locations Assist with returns, shortages, and paperwork reconciliation as needed Required Skills Class A CDL driving DOT regulations compliance Vehicle inspection and basic troubleshooting Electronic logging devices (ELDs) Route planning and time management Freight loading and unloading Material-handling equipment operation Paperwork and manifest accuracy Customer service Safety procedures and defensive driving
