Responsibilities Safely operate Class A tractor-trailer trucks with tanker and other specialized configurations such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or dump trucks to transport hazardous and freight loads. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and cargo to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring secure handling of hazardous substances. Follow designated routes for delivery and route driving, adhering to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, inspection reports, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and emergency responders if necessary during transportation or incidents. Uphold safety standards at all times by properly handling hazardous materials according to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines and other regulatory requirements. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers hauling freight or hazardous materials. Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and operating refrigerated trailers or flatbeds is highly desirable. Experience with tanker trucks, load & unload procedures, and handling hazardous cargo safely. Ability to operate forklifts or dump trucks as needed for loading or unloading operations. Knowledge of route driving best practices and adherence to safety regulations governing hazmat transportation. Strong physical stamina to perform vehicle inspections, load/unload freight, and handle equipment safely.
