Job Description
Overview Join our team as a Class A Truck Driver and enjoy the stability of a local driving position where you're home every night. You'll run established routes throughout southern Illinois and Missouri, delivering pallets and other lumber safely and reliably while building a consistent routine and work-life balance. This is a great opportunity for an experienced driver looking for a sustainable, long-term career close to home rather than spending weeks on the road. Duties Safely operate Class A commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers and flat beds, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, handling pallets and lumber with care. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with safety standards. Communicate effectively with sawmill staff to coordinate deliveries, report issues promptly, and ensure customer satisfaction. Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT rules, and safety protocols. Experience operating manual transmission trucks and handling manual loading/unloading procedures. Ability to handle flaltbed trailers. Strong manual handling skills for loading/unloading freight safely and efficiently. Join us to drive your career forward!
