Job Description

Department/Location:
Courier - Various locations 25/pp This is a part-time job, shifts times vary. No holidays or Sundays. Saturday rotation
Job Summary:
Representative of MMH by picking up, delivering and transporting lab specimens, documents, mail, laundry, instruments, food and supplies between the hospital and associated clients.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties/Responsibilities:
Receives, delivers, unloads, & inspects deliveries at MMH facilities Transports clean linen to off-site locations Transports soiled linen from off-site locations to main campus Must accurately manage delivery & pick up routes by not combining clean & dirty on the same route Properly picks up & transports all lab specimens from multiple locations Handles specimens according to proper infection control policies and procedures Prioritizes STAT pickups & brings specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner Documents & maintains client specific details on specimen pickups Delivers food items to offsite locations when necessary Transports clean & dirty instruments between MMH locations Must answer & operate cell phone timely for frequent interruptions regarding specimen pick-ups Able to safely drive the following vehicles: box truck, van, car Picks up mail & packages to deliver to MMH off-site facilities Performs vehicle inspection before starting shift
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong customer service, time management & decision-making skills Able to multi-task; detail oriented Must be able to operate a computer & other basic office equipment
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 6 months relevant experience, preferable in healthcare or transportation Must have valid driver's license & clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
Frequent sitting, standing, walking & use of hands Occasionally may need to lift up to 25 lbs, up to 50 lbs on occasion
