Duties Safely operate a tractor-trailer with flatbed configurations along designated local routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, handling logistics cargo with care to prevent damage Secure loads properly on flatbeds using appropriate tie-downs and safety devices to meet safety standards for hazardous materials and dangerous goods when applicable Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to reach delivery destinations on time while optimizing routes for fuel efficiency and productivity Deliver freight to various customer locations, including automobile transportation and hazardous materials when required, maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before hitting the road Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records in accordance with FMCSA and DOT regulations Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with flatbed trailers Strong knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures and manual handling techniques for freight cargo Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning for local delivery routes Ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently under various driving conditions Excellent driving skills with a clean record adhering to DOT regulations and safety standards Capable of managing logistics cargo handling with attention to detail for freight security and proper load distribution Experience running forklift Embark on a rewarding career where your driving expertise makes a difference!
