Job Description

Lazer Logistics is hiring a Local CDL Driver with Hazmat endorsement to support yard management, spotting, and shuttle operations for major distribution centers. In this home-daily role, you will safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous freight between yards, docks, and nearby facilities using specialized tractors and trailers. Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, securement and handling of hazmat loads, accurate documentation, and radio/tech-based communication with dispatch and yard teams. Responsibilities Operate CDL tractor locally to move trailers between yards, docks, and nearby facilities Transport and handle hazardous materials in compliance with DOT and hazmat regulations Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance issues Maintain accurate logs, bills of lading, and hazmat documentation Use yard management systems, radios, and onboard technology to communicate with dispatch Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and securement procedures Coordinate with yard spotters and warehouse staff to ensure on-time moves Adhere to company service standards and represent Lazer Logistics professionally Participate in ongoing safety and operational training Support continuous improvement of yard and shuttle operations Required Skills CDL Class A driving Hazmat handling and transport Vehicle inspection and basic troubleshooting FMCSA and DOT regulation knowledge Yard shuttling and trailer spotting Electronic logging devices (ELD) use Defensive driving techniques Load securement and PPE use Radio and dispatch communication Reading bills of lading and hazmat documents
