Job Description
You're home every night! This role will operate Monday to Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm with minimal overtime. No nights or weekends! The Commercial Truck Driver will load, unload, and deliver supplies/materials to customers safely navigating either a 53ft Flatbed Truck or a 26ft dry van in an accurate, efficient, and safe manner throughout the designated area. They will be transporting, sorting, loading/unloading, and stocking inventory materials, and collaborating closely with our customers at all points of the delivery process. When not driving, they will be expected to assist with duties in the larger warehouse, including picking orders, cycle counts, and shipping. Load and unload materials onto and off the vehicle. Ensure contents are properly and safely secured to prevent damage/injury. Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 80,000 lbs in a safe and responsible manner. Observe and comply with all applicable traffic laws and drive in accordance with various weather/road conditions. Comply with ICC and DOT regulations Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs Adhere to company rules and regulations Assist in mapping driving routes. Stay on a predetermined truck route and ensure timely transport and delivery. Obtain signatures to confirm and complete proof of deliveries. Return all required documentation to appropriate company official. Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered. Perform simple vehicle maintenance; cleaning interior of the vehicle, checking lights, checking tires, filling fluids, and scheduling routine maintenance to keep the vehicle running properly. Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas. Prepare all types of packages and equipment for shipment. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Operate forklift in a consistently safe manner. Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements:
3+ years of proven experience in professional commercial truck driving required Valid commercial driver's license (CDL class A) and clean driving record required. Demonstrates a high-quality work ethic by exhibiting professional attitude, honesty, and integrity. Proficient using GPS and other map planning/routing systems. Map reading and route planning experience. Initiative-taker who works well independently. High-level of physical and mental stamina during driving shifts. Ability to drive shifts of up to 8 hours with breaks and meal periods. Ability to lift to 70 lbs at a time. Ability to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.Benefits:
