Job Description
DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY
: The primary purpose of this job position is to insure the safe and timely transport of residents to and from appointments and/or sponsored activities as directed by the Transportation Coordinator.PRINCIPLE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Transports residents to and from appointments as scheduled by the Transportation Coordinator. Ensures residents are transported safely and courteously. Completes all logs as required and in accordance withDOT/FMCSA.
Reports any/all status changes and incidents involving the residents' during transport to the charge nurse or unit manager. Remains flexible and reacts calmly and respectfully in stressful situations such as last-minute schedule changes, distressed residents, etc. Reports any/all damage to or maintenance required on the vehicles immediately to the Transportation Coordinator. Fills vehicle with gasoline at the end of each shift, saves and delivers receipts to the Transportation Coordinator in a timely manner. Cleans vehicles whenever time allows. Completes any and all tasks requested by the Transportation Coordinator. Maintain a professional appearance at all times.QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent required. Current Massachusetts Class D driver's license in good standing and medical examiner's certificate with random required drug and alcohol testing required. Good general health as determined by pre-placement physical and annually or as required. Proof of yearly vision test.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Language Ability:
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and to read and speak the primary language of the residents. Strong communication skills with facility personnel, all co-workers, and visitors are necessary.Mathematical Skills:
Basic ability to add, multiply, subtract and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.Cognitive Demands:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and requests furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to prioritize assignments and work order requests. Ability to collaborate with others.Computer Skills:
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, e-mail and the Internet.Competencies:
