Job Description

Seeking a Driver for Adult Day Health Center at Manor on the Hill located in Leominster, MA. We believe in treating your loved ones with respect and care while providing them with a place to socialize, receive medical attention and participate in activities and healthy meals and snacks. The Driver is responsible for assisting and safely transporting members to and from Adult Day Health Center and their residence.
Responsibilities:
Safe assistance and transportation of members. Responsible handling member's personal belongings, medications and family communications which must be conveyed from the member's residence to the Center. Maintaining good rapport with members, family caregivers and community. Daily safety check of vehicle. Reporting immediately to the Transportation Coordinator any problems related to the vehicle, routing or scheduling. Reporting immediately to the Program Director any problems observed or encountered while transporting members. Daily "gas-up" and weekly fluid check of vehicle and cleaning of the interior of the vehicle. Emergency evacuation of members if inclement weather (e.g. Blizzard, Snow Storm) is threatened or if there is a power failure or other reason that the Center must close. Handling of emergencies en route until emergency assistance arrives at vehicle.
Qualifications:
Must be qualified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic first aid. Demonstrate marketing and public relations skills and excellent communication skills. Understand the needs of the elderly and, in particular, the needs of those affected by cognitive impairments; Be sensitive to the needs of family caregivers. Be available to work unscheduled days and hours. Make a commitment to cooperative performance to attain care, organization and program objectives which may entail performing duties not included in this job description. Demonstrate knowledge of roadways near the center.
