TOWN OF EASTON PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION
: Sanitation Crew Member
REPORTS TO
: Sanitation Supervisor
JOB OBJECTIVES
: Provide residential and commercial waste collection for the town of Easton.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
: Must be able to perform heavy physical labor outdoors in all types of weather. Must have a valid a valid Maryland Driver's License and DOT Endorsement. Full time non-exempt position.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS
: Will be required to be on time and maintain attendance requirements. Lift up to 50 lbs. The ability to pick up trash cans, trash bags and other debris. Pick up garbage in Hughes Alley, dump trash cans in (scheduled) town parks, unlock gates at Springhill Cemetery and empty recycling bins. The ability to step on to and off of trash truck. The ability to move dumpsters into place for trash truck to dump. Pick up loose trash. Assist in maintaining, cleaning and greasing sanitation vehicle(s). Pick up bulk items. Fill in on grapple truck and drive grapple truck, if licensed appropriately. Fill in as back up driver for rear load truck, if licensed appropriately. Fill in as crew for rear loader when necessary. Fill in as back up driver for automated trucks, if licensed appropriately. Will be responsible for safety of truck and crew, when serving as driver. Will be required to bend, twist, squat, kneel, walk and stand for extended periods of time. Will be required to assist other crews and perform other duties as directed by appropriate supervisor. Will be required to be available during weather related emergencies.
