Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport freight efficiently across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials, and different types of cargo will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized trucks such as dump trucks or roll-off trucks on assigned routes, including OTR routes. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or forklift equipment when necessary, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Transport various types of freight, including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, and other specialized cargo like automobile transportation or freight requiring specific handling procedures. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns; report any issues promptly. Comply with all safety protocols related to hazardous materials regulations and truck driving laws while maintaining a clean driving record. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and pickups across multiple locations. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving in various environments. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading. Ability to handle different types of trucks such as flatbed, tanker, refrigerated trailers, or specialty equipment like forklifts or dump trucks. Experience with GPS navigation systems and logistics cargo handling for efficient route planning. Strong manual handling skills for load & unload tasks; familiarity with freight handling equipment is a plus. Flexibility to work over-the-road (OTR) routes and adapt to changing schedules; excellent time management skills are essential. Physical ability to perform the demands of commercial truck driving including lifting heavy loads safely when required.
