Job Description

OVERVIEW
This job will perform work in the areas of Salisbury and Ocean City, Maryland. Perform duties as directed by the foreman in the installation, removal, or maintenance of underground utilities. Must have a valid commercial "A" license. Must meet minimum requirements for DOT certification.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-trip equipment prior to mobilizing to the job. Check and maintain fluids in the vehicle as directed. Load material on equipment and secure as directed. Must be able to lift at least 90 lbs. Safely drive and operate the following, 6 wheel, 10 wheel or tri-axle dumps, boom trucks, or equivalent. Load, unload, and dump as directed. Participate in pre-job JHA ( Job Hazard Analysis) on a daily basis. Report any unsafe conditions to your foreman. Operate tools as directed by foreman. Place, remove, or maintain underground utilities as directed. This would include but not limited to carrying pipe, bags of cement, and other heavy items. Jack hammering, shoveling, tamping, and installing pipe, duct, or cable At all times work in a safe manner
Machines, Tools, Equipment, and Work Aids:
6 wheel, 10 wheel or tri-axle dumps, boom trucks, or equivalent. Jack Hammers, Chop Saws, Tampers, Rollers, Vibratory Plates, Water Pump, Air Ventilator, Gas Monitors, basic hand tools.
Work Schedules and Hours:
While work schedules and hours may vary somewhat depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5 - 8's and 4-10's. Work hours include beginning at approximately 6:30 a.m. and finishing around 4:00 p.m. One half-hour lunch. Overtime as job dictates.
QUALIFICATIONS
All successful candidates will have passed both a physical examination and drug/alcohol screen. Driver/Labor must have a minimum of a valid commercial " A" driver's license and be able to pass DOT physical along with a background check.
