Job Description

Precast of Maine is looking to hire a reliable and safety-focused Boom Truck Driver to join our team. This role is critical for the timely and safe delivery of precast concrete products to job sites. The ideal candidate must be a skilled CDL Class A or B Operator with crane operation certification (preferred), strong safety discipline, and the ability to handle large, heavy lifts in various site conditions. The position is based in Topsham and is a full-time and year-round role. Job Duties include but are not limited to: Operate a boom truck mounted crane to lift, swing, and place precast units with precision, ensuring they are secure and stable. Work closely with dispatchers, rigging crews, and site supervisors to ensure smooth delivery and installation. Select and secure appropriate slings, shackles, hooks, and bars for precast units and other materials. Perform vehicle inspections and maintain DOT compliance. Assist with yard operations, loading, and product handling when not making deliveries. Read and apply load charts, assess site conditions (ground bearing capacity, overhead obstructions, powerlines), and create lift plans.
Requirements:
Valid CDL Class A or B license and proficiency in operating a boom truck with the ability to handle heavy loads and complex lifts. Clean driving record. Understanding of load charts, crane capacity factors, and safe lifting practices. Clear verbal and radio communication with crew and signal persons. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely navigate active construction sites. Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening. Construction, precast concrete, or building materials delivery experience is preferred. Excellent attendance and reliability.
