Driver - CDL Class A or B

Rhino Seed & Landscape Supply is a family owned and operated Agribusiness since 1930. Rhino Seed manufactures straw erosion control products and custom mixes grass seed for both commercial and retail customers. The local Driver helps keep our company moving by transporting finished goods from the manufacturing facility to the warehouse or distribution facilities. The local driver may also deliver products to local customers. This is a steady, full-time position where the driver is part of a high performing team. All transportation is local.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm with opportunity for overtime and weekends.

Position Details:

Includes but not limited to moving trailers to and from our facilities and customers sites. Loading and unloading trucks. All in the state of Michigan and occasional surrounding Great Lakes customers.

Job Requirements:

Must have a CDL Class A or B license with a clean driving record. Candidates must have excellent attendance, strong work ethic and follow safety and DOT regulations. Work well with others in a team atmosphere. Must be able to use ELD's. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. 1. Team Player. 2. Inspects truck and trailers at the beginning and end of each workday; records any defects found and submits report indicating truck conditions. Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel immediately. 3. Inventories and inspects all freight before moving from bay location. Obtains signatures for all damages from appropriate personnel. 4. Gives directions to load assistance personnel for loading. 5. Maneuvers truck into loading/unloading position. 6. Fastens chains, binders and/or straps to secure load on trailer during transit. 7. Records amount and type of cargo being delivered. 8. Plans routes using maps or satellite tracking. 9. Has the ability to operate E-log system. 10. Contacts customer for delivery process/instructions in facilitation with Rhino Manager. 11. Drives tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver products or materials, usually over long distance. Follow all applicable traffic laws. Take rest periods during trip as needed and required.
