Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving, to deliver freight efficiently and on time. Your expertise in handling different types of cargo, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and hazardous materials, will ensure our logistics operations run smoothly. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers and commercial trucks on OTR routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or truck loading equipment while ensuring cargo safety and security. Transport various types of freight, including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, and specialized cargo such as flatbeds or tankers. Utilize GPS navigation systems to follow optimized routes and ensure timely deliveries across multiple locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in compliance with regulatory standards. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route changes, delivery schedules, or safety concerns. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a strong understanding of FMCSA and DOT regulations. Skilled in driving manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers with manual handling proficiency. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat). Ability to operate GPS navigation tools confidently for route planning and navigation. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling, load & unload procedures, and freight security protocols. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, hazard awareness, and defensive driving techniques. Experience in delivery driving across diverse routes including route driving and over-the-road (OTR) assignments.
