Job Description
OVERVIEW
The primary role of this position is to transfer items from plant to plant within the PFI Family of Companies.RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
Performs pre-trip inspections on vehicle and reports any problems to the onsite Ryder & PFI automotive mechanic and/or takes equipment to the shop for repairs. Ensure trucks are fueled. Responsible for keeping the truck and trailers clean and organized. Transport loads from Main Plant to OCFS in accordance with SOP. Ensure load has the proper paperwork as to what is being transferred. Work closely with yard supervisor and other drivers on all product transfer needs. Ensure all product produced at Main Plant is transferred to OCFS (off season) at the end of shift. During season hand off paperwork to the 2nd shift driver. Occasionally transfer non-perishable items such as packaging supplies, equipment, etc. from plant to plant. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Education High school graduate or equivalent Class A CDL required Work Experience 2 years minimum driving experience 2 years preferred manufacturing environment experience Skills and Knowledge Knowledge of DOT safety regulations and ability to follow them properly. Safely drive Commercial Motor Vehicles & comply with all speed limits and laws. Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions. Ability to follow and comply with quality standards. Ability to comprehend and comply with GMP rules and Food Safety guidelines. May be required to obtain and maintain valid hi-lo license. Ability to work as contributing member within the team. Ability to frequently lift/move material weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate a PC (keyboard/mouse). Supervisory Responsibilities NoneSimilar jobs in Hart, MI
