Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to operate heavy-duty trucks for various transportation needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting materials along designated routes, adhering to all DOT regulations, and maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism. This role involves manual transmission driving and requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service. Duties Operate commercial trucks with CDL A license to transport materials along specified routes, including from Marquette LSI Ore Dock to Tilden Mine, road paving sites, and local gravel deliveries. Safely drive manual transmission trucks while complying with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety standards. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in accordance with DOT requirements. Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe transportation of goods. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit. Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo. Experience Valid CDL A or B license with proven experience operating commercial trucks, preferably with manual transmission vehicles. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial trucking operations. Prior experience driving routes similar to Marquette LSI Ore Dock to Tilden Mine, road paving projects, or local gravel deliveries is preferred but not mandatory. Strong commitment to safety protocols and attention to detail in vehicle inspections and documentation. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks comfortably and confidently in various driving conditions.
