Job Description

Lowboy Driver Midland, MI Position Summary Bierlein Companies is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Lowboy Driver to support our operations throughout Michigan. This position is responsible for transporting heavy construction, demolition, environmental, and crane-related equipment to and from job sites across the state while ensuring safe, timely, and compliant delivery. This is a position with routes planned to allow drivers to be back at corporate office at the end of every shift . The ideal candidate will have extensive experience hauling oversized and overweight equipment, operating lowboy trailers, and maintaining a strong commitment to safety and professionalism. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely transport heavy equipment and oversized loads to job sites throughout Michigan. Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment in accordance with company policies and DOT regulations. Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of truck, trailer, and cargo. Ensure proper load securement and compliance with all state and federal transportation requirements. Coordinate deliveries and pickups with project managers, superintendents, and operations personnel. Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, permits, and transportation documentation. Assist with loading and unloading equipment as needed. Monitor equipment condition during transport and report any issues promptly. Represent Bierlein Companies professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies. Maintain a clean and safe vehicle and work environment. Qualifications Required Valid CDL Class A license with an acceptable driving record. Minimum of 5 years experience hauling heavy equipment and oversized loads. Extensive experience operating lowboy trailers. Strong understanding of Michigan oversize/overweight permitting requirements and DOT regulations. Experience loading, securing, and transporting a variety of heavy equipment. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Preferred Experience hauling demolition, environmental, construction, or crane-related equipment. Familiarity with Michigan highways, permitting requirements, and transportation routes. Mechanical aptitude and basic heavy equipment operating experience. Physical Requirements Ability to climb, bend, kneel, and secure loads safely. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to sit and drive for extended periods. Able to pass pre-employment physical, background check and drug screen.
