About the
Role:
The Company Truck Driver plays a critical role in supporting mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction operations by safely transporting materials, equipment, and personnel to and from various sites across the United States. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and adherence to regulatory compliance to ensure smooth logistical operations within often challenging environments. The driver will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle in optimal condition, performing routine inspections, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime. Effective communication with site supervisors and logistics coordinators is essential to coordinate deliveries and pickups efficiently. Ultimately, the role contributes directly to operational productivity by ensuring timely and secure transportation services that meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class operated. Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents. Minimum of 2 years of professional truck driving experience, preferably in industrial or heavy equipment transport. Knowledge of and compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards. Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience driving in steel, mining, quarrying, or oil and gas extraction environments. Familiarity with GPS and electronic logging devices (ELDs). Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Certification in defensive driving or safety training programs. Ability to operate specialized heavy-duty trucks or equipment.
Responsibilities:
Operate company trucks to transport materials, equipment, and personnel between mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction sites. Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site managers, and other team members to coordinate schedules and report any delays or issues. Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, traffic laws, and environmental regulations to minimize risks and ensure safe operations. Assist with loading and unloading materials when necessary, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage or injury. Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical problems immediately to the appropriate personnel.
