Job Description
Our Tecumseh location is currently looking for a Local Class B - Delivery Driver ! We are a growing family-owned business that has been serving customers since 1976. Avery Oil & Propane is a propane, fuel, and lubricant supplier with 3 locations in Michigan. This position is based at our Rives Junction location and follows a standard Monday through Friday schedule. The starting pay is $22 per hour, commensurate with experience. Additionally, the role is eligible for multiple bonuses throughout the year. Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance starts day one of employment at zero cost for employee only coverage and low costs for dependents. Avery Oil and Propane will help obtain hazmat endorsement.
Responsibilities:
- Safe and efficient delivery of refined fuel and propane to residential, agricultural and commercial customers.
- Respond to customer questions, concerns, or emergencies while utilizing exceptional customer service.
- Visually inspect residential and commercial tanks to ensure safety. Ability to successfully complete leak tests.
- Willingness to be cross trained in other services provided by the company. Adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
- Thorough record keeping through appropriate use of company issued equipment that would include but not limited to: customer accounts, safety compliance, driving records, time records, and other data as necessary.
- Ensure proper care of equipment with the ability to communicate needs to manager.
- Consistently and effectively communicate proactively with the Service Manager, Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), Dispatcher, other drivers, and customers as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree required.
- CDL class B or A required. CDL class B or A with Hazmat endorsement preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 1-year commercial driving experience required.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent climbing, twisting, and bending expected from daily use of a delivery truck and equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
