Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable Tow Truck Driver to join our team. We are looking for 1 driver in the Emmet area. This role requires a basic understanding of automotive mechanics, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage problems and time effectively while ensuring the safety of both the driver and the vehicles being towed. Our main priority is maintaining the safety of the customers we assist. Qualifications Chauffer's license DOT physical Duties Ensure the safety of the customer by verifying whether the customer is with the vehicle on the side of the road or if the vehicle is located at a residence. Operate various types of tow trucks, including flatbed and wheel-lift models, to transport vehicles safely. Perform winching processes while ensuring minimal/no damage. Provide roadside assistance, including jump-starts, tire changes, fuel deliveries, and lockout services. Maintain accurate invoice records of services performed. Respond promptly to dispatched calls. Communicate with customers and the dispatchers accurately, and in a timely fashion. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the safety of the tow truck. Clean-up of accidents. Long hauls - We travel all over Michigan, but our main area is the northern lower peninsula. Skills Ability to lift heavy objects. Knowledge of basic maintenance of vehicles. Driving skills are a requirement. Tow truck drivers have to navigate various weather conditions. Basic knowledge of smartphone use. The towing jobs are dispatched through an app that requires information to be logged. Ability to complete tasks independently while paying close attention to detail. Ability to be flexible. This is a 24-hour on-call position while on shift, with appropriate sleeping hours during shifts. Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive experience for clients during times that are unpleasant for the customers. Ability to load and unload vehicles efficiently and safely with good time management. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
